Organisational Process Definition (OPD)

The Purpose of CMMI Organisational Process Definition is to establish and maintain a usable set of organisational process assets and work environment standards.

This CMMI process area provides support for the implementation of the TMMi Process Area Test Lifecycle and Integration, especially for Specific Goal 1 – Establish Organisational Test Process Assets.

The CMMI process area Organisational Process Definition can also support the implementation of TMMi Generic Practice 3.1 – Establish a Defined Process by establishing the organisational process assets needed.

Organisational Process Focus (OPF)

The purpose of CMMI Organisational Process Focus is to plan, implement and deploy organisational process improvements based on a thorough understanding of the current strengths and weaknesses of the organisation’s processes and process assets.

This CMMI process area provides support for the implementation of the TMMi Process Area Test Organisation, especially for Specific Goal 4, Determine, Plan and Implement Test Process Improvements and Specific Goal 5, Deploy Organisational Test Processes and Incorporate Lessons Learned.

It also provides support for the implementation of the TMMi Generic Practices 3.2 – Collect Improvement Information in all Process Areas, as it establishes an organisational measurement repository.

Organisational Training (OT)

The purpose of CMMI Organisational Training is to develop the skills and knowledge of people so they can perform their roles effectively and efficiently.

This CMMI process area provides support for the implementation of the TMMi Process Area Test Training Program.

Requirements Development (REQD)

The purpose of CMMI Requirements Development is to produce and analyse customer, product, and product component requirements.

Practices from this CMMI process area can be re-used when developing test environment requirements in the TMMi Process Area Test Environment.

Risk Management (RSKM)

The purpose of CMMI Risk Management is to identify potential problems before they occur so that risk-handling activities can be planned and invoked to mitigate adverse impacts.

Practices from this CMMl process area can be used for identifying and mitigating product risks and test project risks in the TMMi Process Areas Test Planning and Test Monitoring and Control.

Verification (VER)

The purpose of CMMI verification is to ensure that work products meet their specified requirements.

The practices of Specific Goal 2 – Perform Peer Reviews of this CMMI process area provide support for the implementation of the TMMi Process Area Peer Reviews.
