Process Area 4.2 – Product Quality Evaluation

Purpose

The purpose of the Product Quality Evaluation Process Area is to develop a quantitative understanding of the quality of the products and thereby support the achievement of specific projects’ product quality goals.

Scope

The Product Quality Evaluation Process Area covers the practices at the project level for developing a quantitative understanding of the product that is being developed and achieving defined and measurable product quality goals.

Both functional and non-functional quality attributes are to be considered when defining the goals and practices for this Process Area.

Product Quality Evaluation is strongly supported by the Test Measurement Process Area that provides the measurement infrastructure.

  • Is an approach to measuring product quality defined and implemented across the organisation?
