The assessment Leader will draft a plan which will detail the following:

  • The overall purpose of the assessment derived from the Sponsor’s objectives
  • The scope of the exercise which will include:
    • Which part of the organisation will be assessed
    • The number of interviews to be conducted
    • Over what time period the interviews will take place (both individually and as a whole)
  • Which Organisational roles will be interviewed
    • The main Process Area(s) that each interviewee will cover
  • Roles and responsibilities for the assessment, including assessors’ responsibilities
  • The assessment team members’ names, contact details and qualifications
    • Including accredited assessor numbers
    • Success criteria for the assessment
  • A detailed schedule of activities, to include:
    • Dates
    • Times
    • Locations
    • Attendee list
  • for all
    • Planning meetings
    • Interviews
    • Data-gathering sessions
    • Feedback sessions and
    • Results presentations
  • Resources required
    • Rooms
    • Teleconference facilities
    • Projector
    • Secure storage
  • Locations for interviews
    • Addresses and directions for all locations which may be:
      • All in one building
      • Many buildings in one city
      • Many cities across a country
      • More than one country
  • Administrative requirements and actions, such as
    • Travel arrangements (flights, both international and internal)
    • Arranging accommodation and subsistence
    • Obtaining visas for foreign travel to certain countries
    • Passes or other means to gain access to secure locations
    • Start and finish times each day
  • The approach to providing feedback (both ways, from client to assessors and from assessors to the client)
  • Constraints, for example:
    • Security restrictions preventing access to sensitive operational corroborative documents
    • Lack of availability of resources
      • e.g. interviewees not available at busy working times
    • Fixed end-date or maximum chargeable cost for the assessment
    • Need for assessors to be security cleared
  • Any other elements required to be planned for and implemented prior to commencing the data gathering Phase.

The assessment Lead will work closely with the Sponsor and Organiser while drafting the plan. The Sponsor must agree to the plan before proceeding.
